The 250 class heads to Washougal with the championship picture completely reshuffled after Millville. Julien Beaumer earned the first overall victory of his career, while Levi Kitchen fought through the pack for 8-2 moto scores and third overall. Cole Davies endured a disastrous 38-13 day, allowing Kitchen to reclaim the red plate and build a 24-point lead over Beaumer, with Davies another point behind in third. Kitchen now brings the championship lead into his hometown race, but Washougal’s hard-packed soil, deep shadows and slick, constantly changing conditions leave little room for mistakes. With six different winners through seven rounds, the unpredictable 250 class is still far from settled.

250 OVERALL QUALIFYING RESULTS
Kayden Minear has been better and better; he too could be a winner by the end of the season.
Julien Beaumer and Levi Kitchen set the pace early in the second session, backing up the speed they showed in the opening round of qualifying. Pierce Brown also made his return to racing this weekend and quickly put himself inside the top ten, but a crash later in the session left him slow to get back to his feet. As the clock wound down, Cole Davies moved to the top of the session, although his lap initially placed him only fifth overall as the track had slowed from session one. That did not last long, as Davies returned just a few laps later and laid down the fastest time of the day, bumping Beaumer back to second.

Julien Beaumer looks very smooth on track and has the potential to grab another win.

Levi Kitchen was the first rider to put down a serious lap in 250 qualifying, ripping off a 2:13.222 on his first full lap to jump to the top of the leaderboard. Lux Turner slotted into second early before Drew Adams continued his impressive speed from recent rounds, sitting just over a second off Kitchen. Cole Davies found his rhythm on his third lap and moved into second, just one-hundredth of a second behind Kitchen, while Chance Hymas climbed into the runner-up spot later in the session. Ryder DiFrancesco and Caden Dudney also worked their way into the top five as the track continued to break in and lap times dropped. Adams then pieced together a blistering fourth lap to briefly take over the top spot before Pierce Brown made an impressive return to racing by putting his Star Racing Yamaha into third. In the closing minutes, Julien Beaumer found the fastest line around the evolving track and lowered Adams’ best by nearly half a second to claim the fastest qualifying time, while DiFrancesco jumped into second. When the session ended, the top four riders were separated by less than half a second, setting up what should be a stacked 250 racing.

Chance Hymas built up some confidence after a moto win at Spring Creek last weekend.
Caden Dudney prepares for battle. Seems to be asking, “Is this my helmet?”
