The 250 class is ready to go racing at Washougal after a tight morning of qualifying in the Pacific Northwest. Cole Davies delivered the fastest lap of the day in the second session, edging Julien Beaumer by less than three-tenths of a second, while Ryder DiFrancesco was only nine-thousandths farther back in third. Drew Adams and Chance Hymas completed the top five, with Pierce Brown sixth in his return to racing. Championship leader Levi Kitchen qualified seventh after showing strong speed earlier in the morning but was unable to match the late pace at the front. With the top seven riders separated by less than a second and Washougal’s slick surface, shadows and changing lines already creating problems, the 250 motos are shaping up to be wide open once the gate drops.

250 OVERALL RACE RESULTS

Cole Davies made up a tremendous amount of points by going 1-1 on the day.

Ryder DiFrancesco launched out of the gate with a massive holeshot and grabbed the early lead, but Cole Davies wasted little time making his move. Within the opening laps, Davies worked his way past DiFrancesco and took control of the moto. Levi Kitchen was once again buried outside the top ten after a poor start, leaving the championship leader with another charge through the field. Up front, Davies, DiFrancesco and Chance Hymas separated themselves from the rest of the pack and settled into the top three positions. Kitchen steadily picked off riders as the moto wore on and reached sixth in the closing laps, right on the rear wheel of Julien Beaumer. Those extra points were important, but Kitchen could not find a way past before the checkered flag. Davies remained mistake-free at the front and completed a dominant 1-1 sweep at Washougal.

Chance Hymas has been really fast in the second motos as he grabbed a third place finish.

Kayden Minear struggled ever so slightly today, but in both motos he was a rider that was difficult to pass and didn’t make things easy on the championship leaders.

The opening moto began with chaos near the front, as Landen Gordon went down and collected both Julien Beaumer and Levi Kitchen, forcing the championship contenders to begin their charges from deep in the field. Cole Davies avoided the trouble, grabbed control of the race and immediately began stretching his advantage over Ryder DiFrancesco, who had moved into second. Behind them, Kitchen and Beaumer worked through the pack together while also battling one another for position through the opening half of the moto. Kitchen eventually gained the upper hand and continued climbing, reaching seventh in the closing minutes, while Beaumer fought his way back inside the top ten. None of it mattered to Davies, who was clearly the fastest rider on the track and cruised to a convincing moto win.

Ryder DiFrancesco was very smooth throughout the moto, and once he moved into second, he stayed there.

Another good ride for Daxton Bennick, who was all alone in fourth.
