Tottenham Hotspur entered the new season brimming with excitement for Roberto De Zerbi's first full campaign in charge.

The Italian steered the club to Premier League safety on the final day of a torrid campaign that saw Spurs fight relegation for much of the season.

With De Zerbi only arriving late last season, this summer was his first real chance to reshape the squad in his own image, and he wasted no time smashing the club's transfer record in the process.

New Tottenham Signings 2026/27

Sandro Tonali joined from Newcastle in a club-record £100m deal, with De Zerbi moving fast for a midfielder he knows well from their shared roots in Brescia. Mateus Fernandes also arrived for a huge fee, joining from West Ham for £85m after Spurs saw off competition from Arsenal and Manchester United.

The spending didn't stop there. Brazilian winger Savinho arrived in an initial £75m deal from Manchester City in the final week of the transfer window before being joined by teammate Omar Marmoush, who arrived on loan with a £60m buy obligation.

Jan Paul van Hecke completed a £52m move from Brighton, reuniting with De Zerbi from their time together on the south coast.

Marcos Senesi and Andy Robertson have both joined on free transfers, adding further defensive experience, while Martin Dubravka arrived as goalkeeping cover and Cole Ramsey completed a free move from Aston Villa.

A real surprise came on deadline day when Chelsea's Mykhalo Mudryk completed a loan move.

Tottenham Departures 2026/27

Luka Vuskovic left for Brighton in a £50m deal, the biggest departure of the summer. The young defender is thought to have an extremely high ceiling, but wanted playing time Spurs simply couldn't offer. Tottenham inserted a hefty sell-on clause and matching rights on any future bids.

Alejo Veliz and Alfie Devine both moved on for smaller fees, joining EC Bahia and Preston North End respectively, while Will Lankshear moved to Middlesbrough for £10m (plus a further £10m in add-ons) and Tynan Thompson completed a £4m move to Manchester United.

Yves Bissouma departed following the expiry of his contract, along with several younger players released as free agents. Radu Dragusin joined Fiorentina on loan with an obligation to buy. Luca Gunter and Yusuf Akhamrich also went out on loan.

Club captain Cristian Romero left the club to join Atletico Madrid in a deal worth £34m and Djed Spence joined Inter having failed to make himself a guaranteed starter in North London. Guglielmo Vicario, meanwhile, joined Juventus on loan and the Italian club have an option to buy worth £8.6m,

Who is Tottenham's Record Signing?

Tottenham's record signing is Sandro Tonali, who joined from Newcastle in 2026 for a fee of £100m (£92.5m up front with £7.5m in add-ons).

It was the first time Spurs have ever paid nine figures for a player following an impressive season for Newcastle in which the Italian played in 35 out of 38 top flight games.

De Zerbi knows Tonali well, with the pair hailing from the same area of Italy, and the Azzurri international's arrival made the rest of the Premier League take notice of Tottenham's ambition under their new manager.

Who is Tottenham's Record Sale?

Tottenham's record sale is Harry Kane, sold to Bayern Munich in 2023 for £86.4m.

The club's all-time record goalscorer left after 13 years and more than 435 appearances, having been repeatedly linked with a move away before finally departing for the Bundesliga, where he has continued to score freely.

Kane is also England's all-time record top goalscorer, having bagged six times at the summer's World Cup to take his tally to 85.
