César Peixoto arrived as the new man in charge and a familiar face returned to lead the forward line, with all of their incoming business funded by one big departure.

New Wolves Signings 2026/27

Total summer spend: £15m

Rafiki Said joined from Standard Liege having scored eight goals for the Belgian outfit in all competitions, adding a new option out wide. The young winger has an impressive international record for Comoros, scoring eight times in 21 caps.

Ladislav Krejci completed his £6m move from Girona to bolster the centre-back options following his successful loan spell at Molineux last year, while John Ruddy and Ghislain Konan joined as free agents.

Raul Jimenez has returned to Wolves on a free transfer from Fulham, coming back to the club where he scored 57 goals across a five-year spell. Kieran Trippier and Sean Neave both made moves from Newcastle, while the exciting Jordan James comes in on loan from Rennes.

João Virgínia was the second goalkeeper signing of the summer with Ruddy.

Wolves Departures 2026/27

Total summer sales: £35.7m

Joao Gomes has left for Aston Villa in a deal worth around £34m plus add-ons, one of the summer's bigger departures as Wolves finally cash in on the Brazilian midfielder, who has long been linked with moves to some of the country's top clubs.

Matt Doherty has joined Sheffield United on a free transfer, while Tolu Arokodare has gone out on loan to Ajax and Ki-Jana Hoever has completed a switch to Sparta Prague.

Sasa Kalajdzic has been released and has since signed for LASK on a free transfer, bringing his time at Wolves to an end after a spell disrupted by injury/ Daniel Bentley has also left on a free transfer, joining Coventry as competition for the No.1 shirt.

David Møller Wolfe has moved to Hamburg on loan, while Hee-chan Hwang has joined FC Schalke 04 on a temporary deal of his own.

Sam Johnstone has sealed a loan move to Celtic, giving the goalkeeper a fresh start north of the border.

Who is Wolves' Record Signing?

Wolves' record signing is Matheus Cunha, who joined from Atletico Madrid in 2022 for a fee of £44m.

The Brazilian striker initially arrived on loan in January 2023 before the move was made permanent, and he went on to star for a struggling Wolves side before his eventual move to Manchester United.

By the time he left Molineux, Cunha had scored 33 times in 92 games for the club.

Who is Wolves' Record Sale?

Wolves' record sale is Matheus Cunha, sold to Manchester United in 2025 for £62.5m. Manchester United triggered the Brazilian's release clause to make him both Wolves' record signing and record sale.

Meanwhile, Gomes' sale to Villa in 2026 will reach £38m if add-ons are met.
