Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayBecause Anthony Edwards was ineligible for All-NBA this season because he didn't reach the 65-game minimum, he is not eligible to sign a four-year, $300 million supermax extension. Instead, Edwards is only eligible to extend for two years and $122 million this offseason.
Edwards filed an extraordinary circumstances appeal, but it was denied by an arbitrator. Luka Doncic and Cade Cunningham also filed the same appeal, but it was granted in their cases. Edwards filing the appeal could be perceived as an indication of his interest in signing the supermax extension with the Minnesota Timberwolves. Edwards almost certainly would have been an All-NBA selection had he achieved eligibility.
Edwards is considered likely to wait for 2027 to sign his next extension assuming he's an All-NBA selection next season.
Edwards signed a five-year, $244 million contract extension worth 30 percent of the max in 2023.
