Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayAnthony Joshua has outlined several potential opponents that could await him if he remains active long enough to continue fighting beyond a proposed showdown with Tyson Fury.
Joshua discussed his future options while reflecting on the fights that could still be available to him in the coming years.
“Because I know if I stay around long enough, there’s the rematch with Daniel Dubois,” said Joshua to Ring Magazine.
“There’s a potential Fabio Wardley fight. There’s the Agit Kabayel fight out there, providing he becomes champion, how big that would be. There’s an Itauma fight as he’s coming up the rankings, there’s still the Deontay Wilder fight out there.”
Joshua did not indicate that he plans to pursue any of those bouts next. The former heavyweight champion is scheduled to return on July 25 against Kristian Prenga in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, in what will be his first fight of 2026.
A fight with Tyson Fury is still expected to be targeted afterward if Joshua defeats Prenga. Any future meeting with Dubois would likely depend on Joshua remaining active long enough to work through other opportunities in the heavyweight division.
Dubois stopped Joshua in their IBF heavyweight title fight in September 2024, while Kabayel currently occupies the WBC mandatory position. Wardley and Itauma have also emerged as prominent names in the British heavyweight scene, and a Joshua-Wilder matchup has been discussed for years without reaching the ring. Fury has also repeatedly been linked to Joshua.
