Arsenal have now submitted an offer for striker Igor Tyjon, who is trying to force his way out of Blackburn Rovers.

The Gunners have been stepping up their pursuit of a striker as we approach the final two weeks of the summer transfer window, and Victor Osimhen has been identified as a leading target, with initial talks taking place.

Osimhen could make an instant impact at the Emirates Stadium, considering his exploits since joining Galatasaray in the summer of 2024, picking up 61 goals and 16 assists in 75 appearances for the Turkish club.

In fact, the Nigerian, who's scored 35 goals for his country, has regularly been on the scoresheet ever since making his breakthrough with Royal Charleroi SC eight years ago.

Tyjon, on the other hand, is likely to be one for the future, considering he is still only 18-years-old, and he has made just three senior appearances for Blackburn.

Ex-Rovers boss John Eustace was the man to give the youngster his senior debut, and said after the match: "“Igor has been a standout young player since I have been at the football club. He had a fantastic pre-season. He’s just played for England in the week. I was delighted to give him his debut today. He has worked, very, very hard."

Mikel Arteta's side have been keen on signing the teenager for quite some time, and there has now been a further update on their pursuit.

According to a report from Rovers Xtra, Arsenal have now submitted an offer worth a total of £2m for Tyjon, and the centre-forward is pushing to leave Blackburn, which culminated in him being left out of pre-season fixtures.

However, negotiations are currently at a standstill, with the Rovers unwilling to sanction a sale, which means they may have to head to a tribunal.

Alongside signing a new striker, the Gunners also remain keen on improving their defence, and a deal to sign Aston Villa centre-back Ezri Konsa is in the final stages.

The England international is poised to arrive at the Emirates Stadium in a deal worth around £60m - £65m, and he has informed Villa that he wants the move.

Should the north Londoners get a deal over the line, they may be in a position to offload Ben White, with Everton ready to make a move for the defender.
