AS Monaco will not be a part of any professional leagues in France the upcoming season. The French Basketball federation is refusing to hear an appeal from AS Monaco. That will leave the club unable to participate in either the French first or second division this season.

AS Monaco was in the EuroLeague Final as recently as the 2024-25 season. Monaco has also won the French Elite League (the top division in France) in three of the last four seasons. Over the last year-plus, the club has face financial difficulties. Monaco had qualified for the 2026-27 EuroLeague, but dropped out due to the financial challenges the club is facing.

As recently as last season, former NBA players like Daniel Theis, Mike James, Nikola Mirotic and Elie Okobo played for Monaco.
