Tom enjoys writing features about teams in the Football League and Premier League, whilst also receiving the opportunity to conduct interviews on behalf of FFC.

Having written for The RedmenTV, he is particularly an expert on all things Liverpool.

Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa are both racing to sign a Paris Saint-Germain star, who could be heading for the exit door out of the French club this summer.

It's already been a busy summer for those in North London. They've welcomed Andy Robertson and look likely to welcome Marcos Senesi next, before potentially bringing Joao Palhinha back to the club on a permanent basis.

Robertson through the door first is certainly a sign of intent from the Lilywhites and he addressed supporters for the first time earlier this week, saying: "I’m in America just now preparing for the World Cup, but I just wanted to send you a quick message to say I cannot wait to play for you guys.

"I cannot wait to meet you guys, I cannot wait to play in the stadium for the first time in front of you and I’m already looking forward next season."

As for Aston Villa, whilst they've still got SCR problems to worry about, Champions League qualification has made them well-placed to welcome some long-awaited reinforcements in the coming months.

It remains to be seen just who those reinforcements are, but reports have suggested that they could rival Spurs for a shot-stopper who is still so full of potential.

According to Fussballdaten, Tottenham and Aston Villa are racing to sign Lucas Chevalier this summer. The goalkeeper endured a tough first season at PSG, losing his starting place to Matvey Safonov, and could now be heading for the exit door just 12 months.

With Guglielmo Vicario potentially leaving and Emiliano Martinez now 33 years old, Spurs and Villa are both aiming to take full advantage of Chevalier's current predicament, swooping in ahead of next season.

Tottenham should push to sign Chevalier

The goalkeeper position had plenty of the spotlight at Tottenham this season and, for the most part, it was for all the wrong reasons. Vicario often struggled to find his best form, leaving Igor Tudor to introduce Antonin Kinsky before the second-choice endured a horror show against Atletico Madrid.

Since then, the arrival of Roberto De Zerbi has calmed the storm and Kinsky has earned redemption. However, there are still concerns about his ability to be a long-term No.1 as rumours persist over Vicario's future.

That makes Chevalier one to watch. Dubbed "fantastic" by scout Jacek Kulig, even the Frenchman will agree that he's struggled to adapt to life at PSG, but he's not the first player to struggle in his first season at a club.

If he's available for the right price, then Tottenham should push to sign the goalkeeper. His potential hasn't just disappeared, either. This is a player who could become the Lilywhites' No.1 instantly.
