PINGTUNG, Chinese Taipei — Australia dominated the AVC Beach Tour Pingtung Open 2026, capturing both the men’s and women’s gold medals as the tournament concluded Sunday in Pingtung.

In the women’s competition, Australia’s Stefanie Fejes and Taliqua Clancy claimed the championship with a 21-19, 21-12 victory over the Philippines’ Cherry Ann Rondina and Bernadeth Pons in the gold medal match. The Australian pair completed an impressive run through the tournament to secure the title, while Rondina and Pons earned the silver medal after a strong campaign that saw them reach the championship match.

Thailand’s Naraphornrapat Taravadee and Worapeerachayakorn Kongphopsarutawadee secured the bronze medal after defeating Japan’s Shiba Asami and Murakami Reika 15-21, 21-17, 17-15 in a thrilling third-place playoff.

The men’s tournament concluded with an all-Australian final as Thomas Hodges and Ben Hood defeated compatriots Mark Nicolaidis and Izac Carracher 21-18, 21-15 to capture the gold medal. Nicolaidis and Carracher settled for silver, while D’Artagnan Potts and Jack Pearse completed an Australian sweep of the men’s podium after defeating Thailand’s Kaewsai Dunwinit and Nakprakhong Banlue 21-9, 21-15 in the bronze medal match.

Australia finished the tournament with four medals, highlighted by a sweep of the men’s podium and the women’s championship title. The Philippines secured a silver medal through Rondina and Pons, while Thailand added a bronze medal in the women’s competition.

The AVC Beach Tour Pingtung Open 2026 formed part of another exciting season on the AVC Beach Tour calendar, which continues to provide athletes across Asia with valuable opportunities to compete at the highest continental level.
