Milwaukee Brewers starter Jacob Misiorowski was already one of the best young starting pitchers in baseball and one of the league's must-see players. Over his past three starts, including Wednesday, he has managed to reach an entirely new level of dominance. 

The only downside for him on Wednesday is that his bullpen was not able to finish the job for him, turning a 1-0 lead into a 3-1 loss to the San Diego Padres.

But that does not take away from what Misiorowski is doing on the mound and how untouchable he has been this month.

Misiorowski went seven innings on Wednesday night, allowing just four hits, no runs, no walks and striking out 10.

Impressive numbers. Even more impressive when you realize those numbers followed his previous start, where he went six innings against the New York Yankees, allowing no runs, just four base runners (two hits, two walks) and striking out 11.

In the start prior to that, he went 5.2 no-hit innings against the Washington Nationals while striking out eight batters before leaving with a hamstring injury. 

In total, over his past three starts, he has thrown 18.1 innings, allowed zero runs, allowed just six hits, walked only four and struck out 29 batters. 

Two of these three starts have also come against two of the best teams in the league (Yankees and Padres).

He also topped 100 on the radar at least 40 times in each of those three starts. 

These are all video game numbers, and it is truly incredible to watch him throw every fifth day. 

It is not just the fact that his velocity is regularly far and away better than everybody else that stands out. It is the fact that he is able to do it so consistently and so deep into games. He is throwing as hard in the seventh inning as he is in the first inning. It is more common for his fastball to top 101 mph than it is to register in double digits.

His breaking pitches are as hard as most pitchers' fastballs, while also possessing ridiculous movement. 

If he can stay healthy, he is going to find himself in a great fight with Pittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Paul Skenes for the National League Cy Young Award. 

Misiorowski's ERA for the season is down to 2.12 after Wednesday's start.
