The LA Clippers have withdrawn the qualifying offer for guard Bennedict Mathurin. This makes Mathurin now an unrestricted free agent.

Mathurin has reportedly agreed to a two-year, $16 million contract with the New Orleans Pelicans. The Clippers had previously held Mathurin's restricted free agent rights. Now, the Pelicans are clear to sign the shooting guard without having to go the offer sheet route.

LA drafted Keaton Wagler, recently re-signed Bradley Beal and added Max Strus at the off-guard position. The Clippers are also still set to reportedly acquire Gradey Dick, should the trade of Dick and Brandon Ingram for Kawhi Leonard ultimately go through. All of that depth left it unlikely that Mathurin would return to LA.
