Red Bull KTM Factory Racing has confirmed that Grand Prix winners, Lucas and Sacha Coenen, are planning to race three Pro Motocross rounds this summer: Thunder Valley, Southwick and Ironman. The three events take place on off weekends for the FIM Motocross World Championship, which remains their priority for 2026.

"It's official: we're aiming for three rounds of the AMA outdoor series. It's a dream to be able to do this while still focusing on our season. Really looking forward to it, will try to enjoy it as much as possible and it'll be a crazy experience. I'm also looking forward to meeting a lot of fans. Super-pumped." – Lucas Coenen

Lucas currently leads the MXGP division by four points – in competition that will resume in France this weekend – and Sacha is three points adrift of MX2's red plate. Wildcard appearances in the United States will be a taster of sorts ahead of a possible full-time transition for the 2027 SMX World Championship.

"The Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team will be a little bigger this year at Thunder Valley, with Sacha and Lucas Coenen joining us for this event. With a short break in the MXGP calendar, they're excited for the opportunity to race at altitude and in the USA. I had the chance to watch both of them compete at the Motocross of Nations last year, where they showed exceptional skill and speed. We're looking forward to welcoming them and seeing them compete in the AMA Pro Motocross Championship." – Ian Harrison

Red Bull KTM Factory Racing's 450SMX wing is currently open for 2027, as all contracts expire at the end of the 2026 season. Rumors indicate Jorge Prado has already inked a two-year extension.
