UFC boss Dana White has explained why he doesn’t have much interest in promoting Jake Paul, a well-known rival of his.

While he may not be everyone’s cup of tea, Jake Paul has certainly made a name for himself in combat sports – and especially boxing. Now, he’s also joined forces with PFL to try and really take on the UFC in the mixed martial arts space.

Paul has been a constant thorn in the side of Dana White for many years now, but it’s clear to see that there is some level of professional respect that exists between the two men.

Despite that, White said during a recent interview that he isn’t overly interested in bringing Paul into the Zuffa Boxing picture, even if that was a viable option.

White discusses working with Paul

“I literally didn’t think that was going to happen,” White said on the Plan Bri Uncut show. “And I said — when you go in there and box a guy like AJ, this isn’t a joke. This isn’t a game. That could kill him. And look, he literally broke his face. … It was a ballsy move getting in there with Anthony Joshua.”

“No. That’s not what I do,” White said when asked about bringing Paul in. “There’s obviously a market for that, but that’s not what I do. I put the best fighters in the world against each other. From the minute that they get into the sport, all the way up to world champion, the best fight the best. There’s always going to be a place for the Paul brother type fights, but that’s not what I do.

“The best. I’m looking for the best fighters in the world.”
