Tonight, the UFC returns to the Meta Apex for Season 10, Week 3 of Dana White’s Contender Series, featuring another five-fight card with fighters looking to earn UFC contracts by impressing UFC CEO Dana White.

In the first two weeks, 10 fighters have already secured contracts, and more will add their names to that list tonight.

The final fight of this week’s Dana White’s Contender Series card features a bantamweight showdown between Bella Mir and Alex Apodaca. Mir enters the bout with an undefeated 4-0 professional MMA record. She boasts three first-round submission victories. “Lady” is an NCAA champion and two-time world champion in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and is also the daughter of former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir.

Main Event: Bella Mir vs. Alex Apodaca

Guilherme Uriel defeated Mario Piazzon in Round 1 (50 seconds) by submission (standing guillotine choke)

Heavyweight Mario Piazzon shot for a takedown right away but left his neck exposed and paid the price as Guilherme Uriel locked up a standing guillotine choke to force the tap and finish the fight in just 50 seconds.

Last year, Uriel was knocked out by Josh Hokit on Dana White’s Contender Series and failed to earn a UFC contract, but this time he not only returned to winning ways in style but also pulled off a move inside the octagon which seems enough to impress UFC head honcho Dana White.

Sean Clancy Jr. defeated Gary Balletto in Round 2 (3:54) by TKO

Undefeated welterweight Sean Clancy Jr. showed how well-rounded he is earlier tonight on Dana White’s Contender Series.

After nonstop back and forth in the first five minutes, Clancy Jr. took Gary Balletto down at the beginning of the second stanza and, after a brief grappling exchange, from full mount, established control and then unleashed heavy elbows and a long series of punches to dismantle “Batman” and turn Balletto’s face into a bloody mess. The ref saw the one-way traffic and stepped in to stop the contest before “The One” could inflict more damage on his American foe.

Ronald Humphrey defeated Alexis Miranda in Round 1 (4:03) by submission (rear-naked choke)

Undefeated 170-pounder Humphrey ragdolled Miranda, turned his face into a horror movie scene, bloodied the Mexican fighter up, and then sunk in a rear-naked choke to force the tap.

Nick Galanti defeated Carlos Petruzzella in Round 1 (KO, 35 seconds)

This middleweight contest was easy game for Nick Galanti, who wasted no time in sending Carlos Petruzzella to the shadow realm.

Galanti shot for a takedown, and then he clipped his opponent with an uppercut and stunned him with a massive right hand, enough to knock down Petruzzella. As “El Tito” hit the canvas, Galanti landed nonstop bombs, forcing the ref to step in and save Petruzzella from further punishment.
