Darren Till is taking on a massive test in the form of Yoel Romero, but one of the top bare-knuckle fighters of this era thinks that Till can get a win over Romero in gloveless combat. Dan Podmore is the combatant in question, and the former multi-division BKB champion battles Julian Fernandez for the latter’s super cruiserweight championship at BKB 59 in Tijuana, Mexico, on September 19th.

Yoel Romero and Darren Till will collide at BKFC 94 on September 26th. Both are now prominent figures in bare-knuckle boxing, but Podmore also took part in Darren Till’s Gorilla Promotions in more of a gloved boxing capacity. As he touched up Darren Till’s debut effort in BKFC as well as thoughts on Till’s sophomore bare-knuckle bout against Yoel Romero later on this month as BKFC returns to England, Podmore said [via Bare Knuckle Bowker],

“Well, I was actually there in Birmingham [at BKFC 90]. I was supporting my teammate Connor Tierney. I thought that Aaron Chalmers may have done a little bit better than what he done. Cuz I knew that Aaron Chalmers, he’s done a fair bit, and I thought that they were sleeping on him a little bit. So when he dropped Darren Till, I was like, “Here we go.” You know what I mean? But then when Darren Till come back, and he pulled it out the pot, he knocked him out. Yeah, that was amazing.”

Delving more specifically into the Darren Till vs. Yoel Romero matchup machinations, Podmore continued [via Bare Knuckle Bowker],

“So his fight with Yoel Romero is; that’s a different kettle of fish. He’s the old man that defies all the odds, and he’s still doing things that old men shouldn’t be doing. You know what I mean? He’s fighting and training like he’s in his mid-30s. It’s going to be interesting to see.”

“I know Darren Till trains hard. I know a couple of the guys from my gym have been up to spar him and that, but I was away at the time. But yeah, they said he’s very good. So, that’s going to be an interesting one to see. I’ll be watching myself, 100%. I think you’ve got to back the Englishman, and I’ll go with Darren Till.”
