Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua look set for a stateside showdown, with ‘AJ’ and Eddie Hearn’s attempts to convince the organisers to switch to Wembley Stadium looking more and more futile.

As a result of a possible location switch, Derek Chisora’s prediction for the fight has changed.

It is understood that Joshua and Hearn signed a contract for the bout to take place in the United Kingdom, but that Netflix and Sela have since decided that they want to stage the event at Madison Square Garden in New York – where Joshua was famously knocked out by Andy Ruiz Jr.

Consequently, Hearn has been desperately trying to convince the organisers that the bout is better suited for the UK – with it being contested between two British heavyweight icons – but Hearn has also sent over his required amendments to the contract for the contest to take place in America.

It is believed that those terms will now be negotiated and that the event will most likely go ahead in NYC.

British fan-favourite heavyweight, Chisora, told iFL TV that he believes Joshua will not be victorious in the US, despite previously predicting a round 8 win for Joshua.

“If Anthony is going to listen to this, if we take the fight to New York, we will not win that fight in New York. It needs to be here, AJ will win that fight here.

“If it goes to New York, it suits Tyson Fury. It suits the other side, it doesn’t suit us.”

Hearn has revealed that a press conference for the event is being planned for next week, but maintains that nothing has been signed as of yet and that the clock is well and truly ticking if they are to proceed with the targeted fight date of Friday, November 20.
