Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayDmitry Bivol’s long absence ended without any drama.
The unified light heavyweight champion defended his WBA and IBF titles with a dominant 12-round unanimous decision over Michael Eifert on Saturday at UMMC Arena in Yekaterinburg, Russia.
The official result: 120-107, 120-107, and 120-107.
The overmatched Eifert gamely tried to make it competitive, but he was too slow, weak, and unskilled to give Bivol any problems. The German fighter, Eifert, had the appearance of a fighter that was out of his element from the first round when Bivol dropped him.
Bivol entered the bout for the first time since his rematch victory over Artur Beterbiev and showed little sign of ring rust. The Russian star put Eifert on the canvas in the opening round with a left hook and spent the rest of the fight controlling the action behind his jab, movement and combination punching.
Eifert, fighting as the IBF mandatory challenger, continued to come forward but struggled to find answers for Bivol’s footwork and timing. Most of the rounds followed a similar pattern, with Bivol creating space, landing clean shots and avoiding prolonged exchanges.
The challenger had success in isolated moments but never appeared close to turning the fight in his favor. By the second half of the contest, Bivol had built a commanding lead on the scorecards and boxed conservatively to the finish.
The victory improves Bivol to 25-1 and gives him a successful title defense in his first appearance in Russia since 2021. Eifert falls to 13-2 following the first world title fight of his career.
