Eddie Hearn has rejected Rick Glaser’s extraordinary list of alleged Fury-Joshua demands, but his carefully worded response leaves Lance Pugmire’s reporting untouched.

In an extraordinary post, Glaser accused Hearn of using Anthony Joshua’s contract addendum to seek money and favors involving Matchroom’s darts and snooker interests, along with several boxing matches. Hearn responded with an insult and one very specific denial.

“I wouldn’t normally reply to you but just to put your insignificant pea brain at rest, our Addendum sent to SELA includes NOT ONE of the points mentioned in your tweet 😂” said Hearn on X to Glaser.

The “pea brain” line is entertaining, but the distinction Hearn made may be more important. He only said those items were not included in the addendum sent to Sela, leaving open the possibility that Matchroom raised them elsewhere.

That becomes interesting when compared with Pugmire’s BoxingScene article, which separated the Fury-Joshua addendum from earlier communications between Matchroom and Sela. The article from Pugmire stated that the addendum covered guarantees involving tickets, transportation, security, the outstanding balance of Joshua’s purse from his fight against Kristian Prenga, and Matchroom’s refusal to permit Zuffa Boxing to promote the event.

Separate communications reviewed by the publication dealt with proposed future business, including darts and snooker payments. They also described discussions surrounding several fights, including Jesse “Bam” Rodriguez against Christian Medina, Murat Gassiev against Jarrell Miller and Jack Catterall against Keyshawn Davis. None was presented as signed.

Nowhere in his post did Glaser say every request was written into the addendum. He accused Hearn of using those demands to hold up Fury-Joshua, leaving open the possibility that some were raised through separate communications. That gave Hearn an easy technical response: none of it was in that document.

What remained unaddressed was Pugmire’s account of the communications themselves and the additional events and payments Matchroom sought from Sela.

His own case was weakened further by the claim that he can recommend Turki Alalshikh permanently cut Hearn off. That grand declaration makes the post sound more like a personal attack than a disciplined account of the negotiations. Still, Hearn’s reply does not clear up the larger story. It limits the denial to the contents of the addendum while sidestepping the separate Matchroom-Sela communications described by Pugmire.
