Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayEddie Hearn says there is no imminent agreement between Matchroom Boxing and Chris Eubank Jr., despite recent speculation linking the British star with a return to the promotional company.
Hearn and Eubank previously worked together on multiple occasions, but their relationship has been marked by a number of disputes over the years.
“Nothing major really, I mean there’s all kinds of sorts of speculation,” said Hearn to Boxingscene. “There’s nothing imminent, there’s no deep conversations. A couple of little chats between members of the team and stuff like that. I think everybody appreciates how big it would be, but there’s a lot of hurdles to overcome in terms of the past.”
The comments come as Eubank’s future remains uncertain following his two-fight rivalry with Conor Benn.
Eubank defeated Benn by unanimous decision in April 2025 before dropping a one-sided decision in their rematch seven months later. The bouts were among the biggest events of either man’s career and reportedly earned both fighters career-high purses.
What comes next for Eubank remains unclear.
The former IBO middleweight titleholder turns 37 in September and has not announced his next opponent. Questions also remain regarding which weight class he will campaign in moving forward after spending much of his recent career at middleweight.
A Matchroom deal could potentially provide Eubank with a path back into major fights, but Hearn’s comments suggest that any agreement remains some distance away.
Despite never capturing one of boxing’s four recognized world titles, Eubank remains one of the most recognizable names in British boxing and continues to attract attention whenever his next move becomes a topic of discussion.
