On Saturday night, Francis Ngannou will make his long-awaited return to the cage when he competes under the MVP MMA umbrella. He will attempt to pick up another emphatic knockout win to add to his resume, and with his last mixed martial arts contest taking place in October 2024, he will feel like he has something to prove.

Of course, Ngannou has managed to become a world champion in both the UFC and PFL, and alongside that, he has taken part in huge heavyweight boxing clashes against Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua. Still, the 39-year-old understands the complexities of the MMA game, and he will know that he needs to prepare as best he can to avoid a potential upset.
When asked about wanting to prove why he’s the lineal heavyweight champion of the world, Ngannou had the following to say.

“I’m very excited about that [reminding everyone of his abilities], and I have been preparing myself for that, and now we are ready. Just three days away to go out there and showcase that.”
“Every fight could go different way, there is not one way, otherwise you wouldn’t be interested. Right? You have another man, another skilful man standing in front of you, training to come after you. You better be ready. You expect things to go your way, you do everything for things to go your way, but it’s not necessarily going to be like that.”
