With Nottingham Forest's Premier League safety confirmed last weekend, Vitor Pereira will be feeling the sand between his toes and the taste of sweet success in the form of tropical rum around about now.

It is very much job complete for the former Wolverhampton Wanderers manager.

Once that sunshine clears for the day, however, the Tricky Trees need to turn their focus towards the summer transfer window where they must attempt to return to European heights.

Nottingham Forest readying bid for £25m midfielder

On the transfer front, there's plenty of work to do for Evangelos Marinakis, who is no stranger to welcoming endless new names in the summer window.

Nottingham Forest's Elliot Anderson applauds fans after the match

The first item on the agenda may be replacing Elliot Anderson. The impressive midfielder is one of the Premier League's most wanted stars and it looks as though a move to Manchester City is calling his name.

Reports have even gone as far to suggest that he could leave the City Ground for a whopping £100m this summer.

If that proves to be the case, then Forest will have plenty to work with in their search for added midfield reinforcements, which could result in the arrival of a long-term target.

According to TEAMTalk, Nottingham Forest are now ready to return with a new bid for Arne Engels this summer. The Midlands club saw their £25m offer rejected by Celtic in January, but that was not enough to end their interest.

After continuing his form, Engels is still on Forest's radar. Marinakis rarely goes quietly, and the Tricky Trees are expected to renew their interest in the Belgian.

Although competition from RB Leipzig and Atletico Madrid is threatening to spoil Forest's plan, their influx of cash courtesy of Anderson's potential sale could allow them to become the highest bidders this summer.

Why Engels can be a Gibbs-White repeat

A box-to-box midfielder capable of providing goals and dictating tempo without sacrificing defensive reliability. Sounds familiar, doesn't it, Forest fans?

It wasn't so long ago that Morgan Gibbs-White was beginning to steal the headlines for the same reasons for the first time. He's since become one of the most important players at the City Ground, much thanks to 'Mr Marinakis'. And the only thing better than one Gibbs-White is two.

By signing Engels this summer, Nottingham Forest would be signing an instant repeat and forming an impressive midfield partnership in the process.

At just 22 years old, there's still a lot of room for improvement as far as Engels is concerned. Whether that improvement comes at Celtic or elsewhere is the big question.

The midfielder wouldn't be the first name to reach his potential at the City Ground, that's for sure. Gibbs-White is simply one of many examples, including Anderson.

Dubbed "powerful" by former Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers, Engels is not someone who is likely to struggle in the English game. Instead, he could thrive in that Forest midfield.

The intention is still to attack at the City Ground, despite this season's relegation scare. There have been plenty of glimpses of that intention back on show in recent weeks, resulting in impressive victories over the likes of Chelsea.

Adding Engels would only add another box-to-box threat. So much so that it would replace that aspect of Anderson's game as he potentially heads to Manchester, whilst also handing Pereira another Gibbs-White-esque star.

There is no downside to spending big on the Celtic star this summer. He did enough to get on Forest's radar in January and has since played a starring role in the Bhoys' stunning attempt at a title comeback.
