Considering the churn and change at Glasgow Rangers in the playing ranks, it's perhaps no wonder that a string of managers have all found life difficult in the Ibrox dugout.

It says it all that the longest-serving first-team player is now John Souttar, a player signed in 2022, while the next in line is Nicolas Raskin, a man who looks almost certain to leave before the deadline.

Managing to stick the course has been an issue for a succession of new arrivals in recent years, with Raskin one of the few to at least flourish over an extended period.

The Belgian has had his issues, undoubtedly, but this is a move that can only be considered a successful piece of business.

It says a lot of the instability in Glasgow that the key figure across the last few seasons has often been a loan signing, be it Mikey Moore, Vaclav Cerny, Abdallah Sima or Malik Tillman.

Few arrivals have shown anything more than fleeting moments of quality, with Hamza Igamane notably spending just a year in the Premiership, before the £1.7m signing was sold on to Lille for £10.4m.

Financially, the sale of Igamane is certainly the type of business the Gers should be looking to repeat, with Raskin likely to make an even bigger splash if and when he does head out the door in the near future.

Plucked from Standard Liege on a bargain £1.4m deal in January 2023, the expectation is that the 25-year-old will now fetch a club-record fee, eclipsing the £19.6m sale of Calvin Bassey to Ajax in 2024.

Indeed, Raskin is fresh from a sparkling, breakout World Cup with Belgium, his surprise impact for the Red Devils only further enhancing his status and reputation.

The in-demand midfielder had enjoyed arguably his finest season at club level too last time out, racking up 13 goals and assists in the Premiership, having seemingly finally found the ideal manager for him in Danny Rohl.

That form for club and country has led to suggestions that a £25m exit could now be on the cards, with Raskin having perhaps earned his move after three-and-a-half years in Glasgow.

Indeed, in a period where so many have fallen by the wayside, Raskin's quality has shone through. He remains the benchmark when it comes to young signings at Ibrox.

How Rangers could seal their best signing since Raskin

There is a nagging feeling that Rangers have prioritised quantity over quality this summer, although the club is still chasing its tail somewhat after a dismal 2025 window.

A string of loans, Moore aside, all flattered to deceive last season, while the likes of Oliver Antman and Joe Rothwell have already been moved on from last year's crop.

Under Derek McInnes' watch, the Light Blues need to find some consistency again, bringing in players who the club won't be desperate to shift in just 12 months' time.

Hopefully, Girona's Kim Min-su can be just the man for the job, the South Korean seemingly closing in on a move to Ibrox, as per TEAMtalk.

The suggestion is that the 20-year-old is set to head to Glasgow in the coming days to undergo a medical, ahead of joining for a fee of around £8.6m, the second most expensive deal in the club's history.

The Gers, after backing out of a deal for PSV Eindhoven's Couhaib Driouech, have lasered in on Kim instead, agreeing to pay his release clause in full in order to get an agreement secured.

A relative youngster, the Girona starlet could follow in Raskin's footsteps as someone who can be nurtured and developed even further at Rangers, the Belgian having only been 21 himself when he made the switch in January 2023.

Like Raskin, who hadn't made a senior international appearance at that stage, Kim is perhaps hoping to boost his profile at Ibrox, having himself only been part of Korea's U23 ranks to date.

That's not to say there isn't merit in this move, the fleet-footed star likely to prove such an asset on the troublesome left flank, albeit while also able to operate off the right and in a number ten berth.

In Spain's second tier on loan at Andorra last season, Kim scored six and assisted a further four goals, having also created four 'big chances' and averaged 1.2 successful dribbles per game.

That record isn't too dissimilar to what the aforementioned Moore achieved last season on Rangers' left flank, the teenager scoring and assisting ten Premiership goals himself, while creating seven 'big chances' and averaging 1.5 successful dribbles per game.

Considering LaLiga.2 is deemed to be the 21st best in the league, with the Premiership down in 34th, as per Global Football Rankings, it bodes well for the impact Kim can make once his move to Glasgow is finalised.

The Gers are set to pay big bucks for him, yet don't be surprised if, like Raskin, he proves to be the club's next big-money sale later down the line.
