Most expected the Magpies to fall by the wayside after so much upheaval in the transfer market, but technical director Ross Wilson has earned his flowers for absorbing the myriad of blows and recruiting shrewdly.

A win over Bournemouth will have secured seven points from nine available. Fixtures against Leeds United and Hull City follow, before the extended international break which stretches from September to October.

Newcastle already look a coherent outfit, but they will hit another level when Matias Fernandez-Pardo integrates into the starting line-up following his deadline-day move from LOSC Lille.

When Fernandez-Pardo could make his starting debut for Newcastle

Fernandez-Pardo has completed his £51m transfer to Newcastle, and it's already clear that Jaissle is eager to hand the Belgium international his debut for the club on Saturday against Bournemouth.

However, it may not be quite the right time for Jaissle to be hurling the 21-year-old straight into the starting line-up. He is not yet up to speed, and Harvey Barnes would argue that he deserves to maintain his position on the left wing, having worked tirelessly across the first two matches of the term.

Of course, Jaissle has intimated his desire to utilise Fernandez-Pardo through the centre, his blistering speed sure to carve through lumbering centre-halves, his ever-improving cutting edge promising many goals down the line for Newcastle.

However, the 21-year-old will expect to feature prominently after his big-money move to St. James' Park, but with Yoane Wissa having started the season in such fine fettle, there's every chance that displacing the DR Congo striker at the front of the ship might prove difficult.

Could we see Fernandez-Pardo out on the left, then? Well, someone else might have something to say about that - and it's not Barnes.

Suddenly, Newcastle look like a competitive outfit once again, even after so many summer setbacks. Fernandez-Pardo is the icing on the cake, and his time will come, but for now Jaissle might want to unleash his club's new version of Allan Saint-Maximin.

Saint-Maximin was something of a cult hero for the Toon, but Bazoumana Toure will be hoping he can leave a bigger legacy when all is said and done at Newcastle.

Toure, 20, joined Newcastle from Hoffenheim for £43m this summer, one of the most talented young wingers in Europe. He is ferocious and fleet-footed, and The Telegraph's Luke Edwards has previously suggested he has a touch of the mercurial wingers's explosiveness and unpredictability about him.

If you look at Toure's Bundesliga form last season, and how that compares to 'ASM' during his final term in the Premier League, you see why the observation has been made.

Toure has more potential, though. Thus far, he has been kept on the bench for Newcastle's opening Premier League fixtures - though he did score in the Carabao Cup against West Bromwich Albion.

But in the Bundesliga last year, he proved he is ready to make a marked impact, so gifted as a playmaker and terrifying as a ball-carrying outlet.

Toure will feel that he is ready to step up and start in the Premier League for Newcastle. For sure, Fernandez-Pardo will want to make an immediate impact, but the Ivorian has been hailed as playing like a "young Sadio Mane" by reporter Bence Bocsak, and he could develop into a superstar on Tyneside.

Bournemouth are an efficient and organised outfit, but Toure has the skill to unlock their defences. He has also settled into his role at Newcastle, and as he itches for a maiden Premier League start, Jaissle should give him his wish and bide his time with the new and exciting Fernandez-Pardo.
