Polarizing boxing star Jake Paul claims multiple National Football League teams have reached out to potentially sign him as a wide receiver.

Jake Paul’s boxing future remains uncertain as he continues to recover from a jaw injury suffered against former heavyweight champ Anthony Joshua last year. For the first time in his career, Paul was stopped in the ring as Joshua dropped him multiple times en route to a TKO win.

Despite teasing multiple announcements about his return in 2026, nothing has come to fruition for Paul. He’s also hinted at potentially fighting former UFC superstar Nate Diaz in Mixed Martial Arts after outpointing Diaz in the boxing ring earlier in his career.

Paul recently admitted that his days competing in the boxing ring could be numbered, especially after his recent health issues since the Joshua fight. As Paul looks to the future, he claims he’s already been approached for a move to one of the biggest platforms on the planet: the National Football League.

Jake Paul says he has ‘better hands, faster, stronger’ than modern NFL wide receivers

In a recent interview with Front Office Sports, Paul was asked about his NFL aspirations and raised eyebrows with his answer.

Jake Paul tells FOS that he has talked to “a couple [NFL] teams and coaches” who are interested in bringing him on to their roster.

“I mean it’s pretty simple – just like when I started boxing, it’s funny to see the tweet deleters out there, non-believers, naysayers. I think there’s a lot of super mediocrity in the NFL and a lot of not good athletes,” Paul said.

“A lot of people dropping passes on a consistent basis. I have better hands, faster, stronger, and I work harder than them. Really all it’s going to take is me, after boxing, practicing some routes. I have a couple of teams and coaches who have already spoken with me and are interested in bringing me on. It’s going to be quite easy.

“I’d love to go to the Cleveland Browns, been a Browns fan my entire life,” Paul continued. “My Mom is a diehard Browns fan, and I think they could use some good receivers over there.”

After Paul’s comments went viral on social media, fans weren’t very supportive of his ambitions.

“I’d love to see this jacka– get lit up, but he’d have to get on the field for that to happen. Not happening,” one fan wrote on X about Paul.

“I’m still laughing about Jake Paul thinking he is faster. F—— [Joe Flacco] could take him in the 40,” another said.

“The worst NFL player is leagues better than Jake Paul. People don’t understand how talented players are; most NFL players were the best players in their high schools and colleges.”

Paul played two years of varsity football at Westlake High School in Ohio, playing primarily wide receiver and linebacker.
