By the final round of his last fight, Jaosuayai Mor Krungthepthonburi was running on heart alone. His body had not adjusted from strawweight. The power gap was real. He has spent the months since then making sure that never happens again.

Jaosuayai faces Chinese southpaw Yuan Pengjie in a flyweight kickboxing co-main event at The Inner Circle, streaming live for members at live.onefc.com from Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand on Friday, June 5.

The 24-year-old Sor Dechapan product owns a 60-25 professional record, a US$100,000 ONE Championship contract, and the head kick knockout of Nakrob Fairtex in 52 seconds that made his name on the main roster.

Since then, three consecutive losses at two different weight classes pulled him off course. His team identified the problem, and the answer pointed directly back to flyweight for good.

June 5 is also Jaosuayai’s first kickboxing bout in nearly five years. He competed in Japan early in his career, reached a K-1 Grand Prix final by winning twice in one night, and asked for a kickboxing booking from ONE Championship since his debut. The rule set removes elbows and clinch, which suits a speed-first, combination-heavy style. He is confident the discipline shift tilts Friday in his favor.

“Going into the Pompet fight, my game plan was solid. But once we got in there, I was severely disadvantaged in terms of raw impact and strength. My body hadn’t properly adjusted yet because I had just moved up from strawweight,” he said.

“As the fight dragged on, I just couldn’t handle his power. By the final round, I was basically fighting on pure heart alone before the referee stepped in and called it a TKO.”

Jaosuayai has identified emotion as his biggest opponent

Jaosuayai Mor Krungthepthonburi has a clear-eyed read on why the losses happened beyond the physical. He fought on emotion in the critical exchanges instead of trusting his game plan, and each time the emotion ran dry before the fight ended. That pattern ends on Friday night.

The version stepping into flyweight kickboxing against Yuan is the most prepared version he has brought to Lumpinee in two years, and he wants fans who followed his journey to know they are going to see something different.

“My team and I have finally found our answer: strawweight is just not for me. From here on out, I’m planning to focus in the flyweight division for the long haul. I am done with strawweight,” he said.

“In this fight, you’re going to see a much more composed and patient version of me. I’m going to use my fight IQ rather than letting emotion dictate the pace like I did in my recent losses. In my entire career, I have never lost four fights in a row, and I will be damned if I let that happen now.”
