Jaylen Brown said Monday he is still adjusting to life with the Philadelphia 76ers and was bothered by speculation surrounding his offseason trade from the Boston Celtics. Philadelphia sent Paul George and four picks to Boston for the All-NBA wing.

Brown's last game with the Celtics was a Game 7 loss to the 76ers in the first round. He described the transition as a gradual process.

"There are phases for sure," said Brown. "There is a mental side, emotional side, the physical side. There's a bunch of phases to, like getting comfortable and getting set up, and some adjustments are new. Every day is a day forward, so I am just putting my best foot forward."

Brown called it "concerning, maybe a little bizarre" to hear Fox Sports' Colin Cowherd claim that sources told him Brown was traded over character issues. He also referenced "analytics," a reason commonly cited for the deal.

"Definitely some undertones there," said Brown.

Jayson Tatum addressed the trade at Celtics' media day in which he called losing Brown "tough." The two led Boston to two Finals appearances and the 2024 title.

"The business of the NBA always comes in and plays a part, always, and I've seen it throughout my 10 years of being in this league," said Tatum. "For me, I'm just grateful for what we accomplished and what he meant to this city."

Joe Mazzulla opened his session by thanking Brown for his contributions to the team and the city before voicing support for Tatum.
