World ParaVolley has appointed Joe Campbell as Technical Delegate (TD) and Matt Rogers as Assistant Technical Delegate (ATD) for the Sitting Volleyball competition at the LA28 Paralympic Games.

The appointments follow an interview and selection process and will see Campbell and Rogers take key roles in the planning and delivery of the Sitting Volleyball competition as the Paralympic Games return to the United States in 2028.

Campbell brings more than 35 years of experience in ParaVolley and has been involved in the sport at the highest international level, including across multiple Paralympic Games. His extensive technical knowledge and experience will be central to preparations for LA28 and the successful delivery of the competition.

“It is a tremendous honor and privilege to accept the appointment as Technical Delegate for Sitting Volleyball at the LA28 Paralympic Games,” Campbell said.

“I am deeply grateful for the confidence placed in me and especially proud to serve in this role as the Paralympic Games return to the United States. I look forward to working with World ParaVolley, LA28, and our dedicated officials to help deliver an outstanding competition and an unforgettable experience for our athletes.”

Rogers will work alongside Campbell as Assistant Technical Delegate, bringing extensive international experience in Sitting Volleyball and major event delivery. While a teacher today at Pool Academy, his background includes being a Technical Operations Manager at London 2012, 10 years running international events for CEV, as well as a long-standing contribution to World ParaVolley.

“I am thrilled to accept this role and look forward to working with Joe to make LA28 another pinnacle of our sport,” Rogers said.

“The Games provide a global stage for both sporting performance and event delivery.  I am committed to providing the best conditions and experience for players, coaches, spectators, and those watching around the world.”

World ParaVolley Sport Director Batyr Kadyrbaiuly welcomed both appointments and highlighted the experience the pair will bring to LA28.

“Joe Campbell brings more than 35 years of experience in ParaVolley and a strong combination of technical expertise and leadership,” Kadyrbaiuly said. “His extensive experience across multiple Paralympic Games makes him an excellent choice as Technical Delegate for LA28. We are confident that his expertise will contribute to delivering the Sitting Volleyball competition at the highest level.”

On Rogers’ appointment, Kadyrbaiuly added: “Matt Rogers brings extensive international experience and a strong understanding of Sitting Volleyball and major event delivery. His experience from previous Games and long-standing contribution to World ParaVolley make him a valuable addition to the LA28 team as Assistant Technical Delegate.”

The appointments mark another important step in preparations for the LA28 Paralympic Games, with Campbell and Rogers set to work closely with World ParaVolley, LA28, the IPC, and the wider technical team in the lead-up to the competition.
