The Denver Nuggets have waived Jonas Valanciunas ahead of his $10 million guarantee date. Valanciunas is expected to receive interest from NBA teams once he becomes a free agent. Valanciunas spent last season as Nikola Jokic's backup at center.

The Nuggets could stretch Valanciunas' $2 million cap hit over three seasons.

Valanciunas averaged 8.7 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 13.4 minutes across 65 games in his age-33 season with the Nuggets.

Valanciunas is repressed by Michael Tellem and Jeff Schwartz.
