The Sacramento Kings have waived two-way guard Isaiah Stevens, according to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, ending the point guard’s brief stint with the organization after one NBA season and a strong campaign with the Stockton Kings in the G League.

Stevens, 25, spent the 2025-26 season on a two-way contract with Sacramento. While his NBA opportunities were limited, he established himself as one of the G League’s more productive playmakers, averaging 14.5 points, 8.6 assists, and 3.4 rebounds in 33 games for Stockton. He shot 47.0% from the field and added 1.1 three-pointers per game while recording 10 double-doubles.

The former Colorado State standout also made three appearances for Sacramento during the 2025-26 NBA season. He averaged 3.3 points, 3.3 assists, 1.7 steals, and 1.0 rebound in 14.3 minutes per game, shooting 42.9% from the field and a perfect 4-for-4 from the free-throw line.

Across his first two NBA seasons with the Miami Heat and Kings, Stevens appeared in six games, averaging 1.7 points, 1.7 assists, and 0.8 rebounds in 8.2 minutes per contest. Although his NBA sample size remained small, he consistently produced at the G League level, averaging 12.8 points and 9.3 assists for the Sioux Falls Skyforce in 2024-25 before improving his scoring efficiency with Stockton last season.

The move comes as Sacramento continues reshaping its roster following a 22-60 campaign that resulted in a third consecutive missed postseason. General manager Scott Perry has emphasized youth throughout the offseason, highlighted by selecting point guard Darius Acuff Jr. with the seventh overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft.

The Kings have also added Adam Flagler and Jonathan Mogbo on two-way contracts while bringing in undrafted players B.J. Edwards and Marquel Sutton for Summer League. Stevens’ departure creates additional flexibility as Sacramento finalizes its developmental roster ahead of training camp.

Sacramento’s backcourt has undergone significant changes over the past year. The organization previously moved on from franchise point guard De’Aaron Fox, released six-time All-Star DeMar DeRozan earlier this offseason, and has continued clearing opportunities for younger players.
