Leeds United have now set their sights on signing Zian Flemming from Burnley this summer, following the Clarets' relegation from the Premier League.
Leeds complete scouting mission on Flemming
Fresh from confirming their Premier League survival against Tottenham Hotspur on Monday night, Leeds are wasting no time before turning their focus towards incomings.
The 49ers will be well aware that their job is only just getting started. They must back Daniel Farke once again this summer, starting with at least one more attacking star.
According to former Manchester United chief Mick Brown, via Football insider, Leeds are now eyeing a move to sign Flemming from Burnley after completing in-person checks on the impressive goalscorer.
"It’s not anything new, they’re not only having a look now that Burnley have gone down, they’ve had scouts keeping an eye on him throughout the season.
"They know they want to sign a new striker, they’ll have a priority option for that position, and then they’ll have options further down the list."
Whilst a surprising option on paper, it wouldn't be the first time that a Premier League side took advantage of a relegated club. It is very much the nature of the beast.
Flemming certainly deserves a Premier League stay, too. The forward has netted 10 league goals in his first season in the top flight and would provide adequate competition for Dominic Calvert-Lewin at Elland Road.

Dubbed "brilliant" by former Burnley manager Scott Parker, Flemming is at the peak of his powers at 27 years old and is likely to be available at a cut-price following his side's relegation. It's an opportunity that Leeds should certainly explore.
Farke "couldn't be prouder" of Leeds players
It wasn't always routine, but Leeds made survival look exactly that in the end. They've avoided the drop with two games to spare and Farke couldn't hide his pride at full-time on Monday night.
"We are unbeaten in the league against Liverpool, against Chelsea, against Manchester United, first away win at Old Trafford for four decades, FA Cup semi-final, it couldn’t be much better performance-wise. Perhaps we should be on even more points right now but I couldn’t be prouder of my players."
The Leeds boss also shared praise for the club's summer business, saying: "Yes, outstanding, and we had to be a bit creative anyhow because we didn’t want to risk the sustainability of this club.
"We have spent less money than many other clubs promoted in the last seasons, but we wanted to be there with a difficult outcome.
"So, we’ve actually spent less money and had a better outcome. This is a difficult blend if I am honest and we managed to do it so everyone deserves well deserved praise."
