Manchester United may have a busy end to the transfer window both in regards to incomings and outgoings, and it has been reported that a Red Devils player who Bruno Fernandes called “top class” is set to leave Old Trafford.

Michael Carrick has already been busy strengthening his squad ahead of his first full Premier League campaign in permanent charge of United.

INEOS have brought in experienced goalkeeper Karl Darlow from Leeds United, Belgian midfielder Youri Tielemans from Aston Villa and Andrey Santos from Chelsea, giving Carrick greater depth in goal and midfield as he prepares for the season ahead.

What Man Utd's signings will bring to Old Trafford

Karl Darlow

Experience and reliability. Darlow gives United an experienced backup goalkeeper who understands the demands of the Premier League. He adds leadership to the dressing room, provides dependable cover for Senne Lammens and also qualifies as a home grown player.

Andrey Santos

Energy and all-round quality in midfield. Santos arrives as an exciting young midfielder, capable of winning possession, driving forward with the ball and contributing goals from midfield. His box-to-box style should add intensity to Carrick's engine room.

Youri Tielemans

Control, creativity and leadership. Tielemans brings proven Premier League experience with Leicester City and Aston Villa, excellent passing range and composure under pressure. His ability to dictate the tempo, switch play and create chances could see him strike up a great partnership with Fernandes.

However, Darlow's arrival has also left United with a crowded goalkeeping department, with Senne Lammens established as the club's first-choice goalkeeper, Darlow providing experienced competition and Tom Heaton still at Old Trafford.

Radek Vitek is also pushing for a move in search of regular football, whereas Altay Bayindir, last season’s second-choice shot-stopper, also is looking for guaranteed minutes.

Now, an exit appears to be edging closer.

Man Utd agree deal for Bayindir to leave on loan

According to Spanish outlet Metropolitano, Manchester United and Celta Vigo have reached an agreement for Bayindir to join the La Liga side on loan.

Bayindir-Man-Utd

The report claims only the exchange of documents and final paperwork remain before Bayindir completes a temporary move away.

From the outside looking in, a move makes sense for all parties. Since arriving from Fenerbahce in 2023, Bayindir has found opportunities difficult to come by at Old Trafford.

Across 17 competitive appearances, the 28-year-old has conceded 31 goals and kept three clean sheets, spending most of his United career as a backup goalkeeper.

A season in La Liga should offer him the chance of regular first-team football he has struggled to find in Manchester, while it allows the Red Devils to get his salary off the books ahead of a permanent exit in 2027, when his United contract is set to expire.

Despite his limited opportunities, Bayindir has retained the respect of his Old Trafford teammates. After the Turkish goalkeeper's penalty heroics against Arsenal in the FA Cup in 2025, captain Bruno Fernandes described him as "top class", praising his professionalism and quality.

For Man Utd, loaning Bayindir out would allow Darlow to serve as back up to Lammens, while giving the Turkey international what he needs at the age of 28 - regular first-team football.
