The Marlins have made four valuable pieces available ahead of the MLB trade deadline.

The National League East side is “willing to listen” to offers for Otto Lopez, Xavier Edwards, Heriberto Hernandez, and Liam Hicks, The Athletic reported.

All four are either 26 or 27 years old with plenty of team control left on their contracts.

Lopez and Edwards, both middle infielders, have three additional years of team control. Hicks, a catcher and designated hitter, has four, and outfielder Hernandez has five.

The Marlins likely see reaching the 90-win threshold and sustaining a competitive team as easier than it was in 2025 or 2024, according to The Athletic.

The Marlins roster and farm system have upgraded over the past two seasons, and moving on from top players like Edwards or Lopez wouldn’t be catastrophic.

Lopez, who appeared in his first All-Star Game in July, leads the majors with a .328 batting average while maintaining a 4.5 fWAR. He has nine home runs and 138 hits in 105 games played this season.

Edwards has been impressive as well, holding a .775 OPS with six home runs and 17 stolen bases. He has slashed .296/.362/.381 in 2026 entering Wednesday’s slate.

The Athletic reported Hicks has received interest because of how weak the market is for catcher options right now.

He has caught about once a week this season, but has 14 home runs and a .798 OPS.

Hernandez also has some interest after he has hit 15 home runs since being recalled from Triple-A on May 27.

In return for either of the four players now on the block, Marlins analyst Craig Mish reports Miami is not looking for players on expiring contracts this season.

They also plan on keeping core players such as Sandy Alcantara, Eury Pérez, Max Meyer and Joe Mack.
