The Dallas Mavericks have matched the New York Knicks' two-year, $4.7 million offer sheet for restricted free agent Moussa Cisse. Dallas matched well ahead of the 48-hour deadline set for Monday night.

Cisse signed the Knicks' offer sheet earlier Saturday. Cisse's $2.2 million salary this season would shift to $1.1 million in protection if he is not waived by 11:59 p.m. on Sept. 1, with the remaining balance becoming fully guaranteed on Oct. 1. Because Dallas matched the offer, Cisse cannot be traded without his consent for one year and cannot be dealt to the Knicks during that span.

Cisse went undrafted out of Memphis last summer before signing a two-way contract with Dallas ahead of the season. The Mavericks extended him a qualifying offer this offseason, making him a restricted free agent.

The 6-foot-11 center averaged 4.5 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.2 blocks in just under 14 minutes per game last season. He could have added frontcourt depth for the Knicks, who lost center Mitchell Robinson in free agency this offseason.
