After Pete Alonso connected with Kodai Senga’s forkball in the ninth inning, SNY’s Gary Cohen’s first words on the call were, “And he hits one to deep left field and that’s gonna be No. 300 for Pete Alonso! Off the facing of the second deck!”
Exactly.
The immediate call wasn’t about the game circumstance. Not about the score or the devastation of the blown lead. Nothing like that.
