Michael Venom Page

Michael Venom Page hopes the UFC sees something special in him and offers him a new contract, as he wants to fight for an undisputed championship soon.

This past weekend, at UFC Paris, Page extended his win streak to 4 by defeating Nursulton Ruziboev by unanimous decision. However, the bout was another uneventful affair, with the Accor Arena crowd heavily booing.

Ruziboev hesitated to strike, while Page, the counter-striker, waited for his opponent to engage so he could respond. In 15 minutes, Page landed just 12 significant strikes and 49 total strikes, while his opponent landed 21 total strikes and just 8 significant strikes in this snoozefest.

This UFC Paris bout was the last fight on Page’s UFC contract, and given how it ended, it is highly unlikely that the company will re-sign him. However, MVP wants to be a part of the promotion and hopes the UFC brass find some positives in him and offer him a new contract, as he hopes to fight for the strap someday. During the post-fight presser, “Venom” said:

“They [UFC brass] weren’t happy with me before. They are not gonna be happy with me now. I want to challenge for a belt; I want to push forward. I want to be in this company… Hopefully they see something special in me.”

Michael Venom Page vows to change his style

After another win in a very frustrating and boring fashion at UFC Paris, Michael Venom Page admitted that he needs to push himself more and take more risks inside the cage, which can only happen if he adjusts his style. He said:

“The results show that I haven’t done enough. I need to push myself a little more, take a few more risks. I know there’s more. There’s not one person in the world that can stand with me. But there’s too many people that can survive with me. That’s what I need to change.

My output needs to change. I might have to doctor my style a little bit, maybe adapt it so people feel more comfortable coming forward. I gotta go back to the drawing board. I gotta sit down with the UFC and have an honest conversation. I know I can do better, I’m aspiring to do better.”
