The NBA has issued teams an updated salary cap projection for the 2027-28 season. The league is now projecting the cap to be $176 million. That's up from the previous projection of $174 million.

That $2 million increase is roughly a 6.7% bump versus previous projection of a 5.5% increase.

The luxury tax is line is projected at $213 million, which is up from the previous projection of $211 million. The luxury tax, and first and second apron, will increase by the same percentage of the cap. The projected increase in the cap also changes the projected salary amounts for the Non-Taxpayer and Taxpayer MLE, the Room Exception and the Bi-Annual Exception. Salary amounts for the Minimum Exception will also increase by the same percentage as the cap, as well as the value for maximum contracts (25%, 30% or 35%) of the cap.
