Coker, Hendler, Pipes and more handed formal punishments.

Columbus' Historic Crew Stadium delivered fireworks befitting of the SMX World Championship postseason, but some of those occurred outside of the venue. As first reported by Steve Matthes and Jason Weigandt of Racer X, discussions inside of a team manager group chat boiled over across Saturday's program and eventually led to an in-person meeting between various stakeholders.

The initial fallout was that Jeremy Coker (5.11 Triumph Factory Racing) and Jensen Hendler (Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing) would be banned from the second playoff in Carson, California, due to violating the code of conduct. The internet was set ablaze, consequently, but cooler heads prevailed as time wore on and an official punishment was handed out in today's penalty report from the AMA.

Hendler and Coker will not have access to the manager's group chat, track or manager's tower at the next two events. Other involved parties (Larry Brooks and Dustin Pipes of Progressive Insurance Ecstar Suzuki and Josh Wisenor of Troy Lee Designs Red Bull Ducati Factory Racing) have been handed the same punishment, but only for one event.

Ultimately, despite initial reports, no one will be banned from Dignity Health Sport's Field in Carson, California.
