Nottingham Forest have returned to the South American market once again, with Gremio defender Viery now on their radar ahead of the summer transfer window.
Nottingham Forest could land cut-price move for Viery
It's full focus on next season now for Forest. They'll be keen to move on from the current campaign and forget it ever happened after falling into a relegation battle. Even if they did successfully avoid the drop in the end, there's no denying that their standards fell after qualifying for Europe just one season ago.
Once-£100m star chooses Nottingham Forest over Spurs and Man Utd transfer
Several clubs have been trying to convince the midfielder to join them this summer.
Vitor Pereira will also be keen to make his own mark on the current squad. It took Forest a couple of attempts, but they've finally landed on the manager that will take them into the next campaign.
Alas, that's not to say their transfer strategy will change. They've still seemingly got eyes on the South American market. According to Sports Boom, Nottingham Forest are keeping close tabs on Viery at Gremio ahead of the summer transfer window.
Whilst the 21-year-old centre-back has a release clause worth £43m, Gremio are willing to open negotiations at the €20m (£17m) mark, opening the door for Forest to land a cut-price deal.

The numbers certainly make for good reading. They suggest that Forest could land themselves their very own Murillo repeat. It wasn't so long ago that they also plucked the Brazilian from South America, and could now welcome a similar gem.
Described as "dominant" by U23 scout Antonio Mango, Viery could even make an instant impact by joining Forest and partnering Murillo at the heart of Pereira's side next season. He's certainly got the potential.
Pereira admits Forest "one of best groups" he's worked with
Everyone in the Premier League knows what Forest are capable of. They pulled off a shock last season and may well do so in the next. Pereira is only just catching up to that quality and admitted in this week's press conference that it's "one of the best groups" that he's ever worked with.
He told reporters: "I hope we can keep most of them because they are a very good group with a lot of character. I don't want to do anything that involves a lot of changes [this summer] because we already have a good base to build something strong for the future."
He added: "I also told them they are one of the best groups I've worked with in my career. They are very easy to work with, to convince and to create the true spirit of a team with. For me, they are a privilege to manage."
