After an off day on Monday for all but six Major League Baseball teams, the final push for the postseason begins in earnest.

When Tuesday's action gets underway, not only will all 30 teams be back in action, but there will also be three series beginning that will have a significant impact on postseason seeding.

Among the series starting on Tuesday is a four-game set in the Bronx with the Tampa Bay Rays visiting the New York Yankees. Tuesday's double-header will include a game originally postponed from May 23.

While New York's chances of catching the Rays for the American League East title are slim at best, this series will serve as a measuring stick for the Yankees as they approach the postseason with a wild-card berth in hand but unsure of the status and availability of an injured Aaron Judge in the postseason.

If the standings hold, the Yankees would meet the Boston Red Sox in the wild-card round, and the winner would advance to play the Rays. That's a lot of "ifs" for the Yankees, but this week could not only give an indication of what the postseason could look like in the Bronx, but also give the Rays a chance to flex their muscles as a reminder before any potential postseason rematch.

Milwaukee Brewers at Philadelphia Phillies

With the Phillies battling the Chicago Cubs and San Diego Padres for National League Wild Card seeding, this series on the surface may mean much more in the City of Brotherly Love than to the Brewers, who have already clinched the NL Central.

This three-game set that starts on Tuesday in Philadelphia, however, matters a great deal to Milwaukee as well, as the Brewers hope to keep their hold on the best record in the NL and secure home-field advantage not only in the NL postseason but perhaps through the World Series as well.

This series kicks off a six-game homestand that will conclude the regular season for the Phillies, with the Rays coming in to end the year in what will be a fascinating matchup. However, while the Phillies will get to finish the regular season at home, it's clear this is a team that doesn't mind playing on the road. With their 7-2 win in Queens on Sunday, Philadelphia has 45 wins on the road this season, their most in a single season since a franchise-record 50 road wins in 2011.

Cleveland Guardians at Boston Red Sox

Another three-game series that begins on Tuesday, this will kick off a final six games inside Fenway Park for the Red Sox, who will host the Cubs in a weekend series to close out the regular season. Cleveland, meanwhile, finishes the year with trips to Boston and Kansas City.

After clinching their postseason spot on Sunday, Boston is likely locked into the second wild-card position. Cleveland kept its grip on the top of the AL Central with a 1-0 home win on Sunday over the Athletics, the fifth consecutive win for the Guardians. 

Cleveland is catching fire at the right time and will need to keep that going in Boston to lock in its own postseason spot.
