The Phoenix Suns and center Oso Ighodaro have agreed to a three-year, $29 million extension. The deal will start with the 2028-29 season and will carry Ighodaro through the 2030-31 season. Phoenix is picking up their $2.5 million team option for Ighodaro for the 2027-28 season, with the extension starting the next season.

Ighodaro has developed into a key rotation player for the Suns over his first two NBA season. This season, Phoenix may rely on the 6-foot-11 big man to start at center. The Suns presumed starting center Mark Williams is going to miss considerable time as he recovers from a torn labrum in his left shoulder.

The Suns will play with Ighodaro and second-year center Khaman Maluach as their two main centers this season. Ighodaro has proven to be a solid defender and good playmaker. Phoenix often uses him as a playmaking hub in their halfcourt sets.
