Released five years ago, the Panorama Taiga is a modern Reynolds 725 hardtail that’s equally suited for trail riding and bikepacking. Panorama just updated the Taiga with several small changes and geometry tweaks to better suit technical trails. Check out the updated Panorama Taiga 2 here…

When I reviewed the original Panorama Taiga, I labeled it a “semi-rad hardtail,” somewhere between a dedicated trail bike and a backcountry bikepacking rig. Not quite a hardcore trail shredder, but not a relaxed touring bike either. From a bikepacking, do-everything perspective, bikes like the Taiga make a lot of sense. The Taiga was updated in 2023 to address minor issues with the original version, and we’re glad to hear that Panorama just received a fresh batch of updated Taiga 2 frames.

Panorama Taiga 2 New

The Panorama Taiga 2 is still optimized for 120 to 140mm suspension forks, features a Reynold 725 steel frame, and maintains sliding dropouts, external cables, and 29 x 2.8″ tire clearance. Other useful specs, such as rack mounts, a threaded bottom bracket, boost hub spacing, and multiple bottle mounts (including top tube and downtube bosses), are standard.

Moving forward, the Taiga 2 has updated UDH sliding dropouts, a new CNC-machined chainstay yoke, and updated dropper post routing. It’s great to see raised bottle mounts added to the seat tube to accommodate long dropper posts, and the external cables now run under the downtube rather than below the top tube. The Taiga 2 still has a split seatstay for those who want to run a belt-drive transmission, but the brace between the top tube and seat tube has been eliminated for a cleaner look.

On the geometry front, the Taiga 2 is slacker (64.5° vs. 67°), longer (1,234mm wheelbase vs. 1,194mm), and has shorter chainstays (425mm min vs. 437mm). Dig into the complete geometry chart below.
