Today’s UFC Paris main card lineup featured a highly anticipated middleweight contest between Michael Page and Nursulton Ruziboev.
Page (26-3 MMA) had entered this afternoon’s bout on a three-fight winning streak, this after scoring decision victories over Sharabutdin Magomedov, Jared Cannonier and Sam Patterson in his most previous Octagon appearances. Prior to those triumphs, ‘Venom’ had suffered a decision loss to recent UFC welterweight title challenger Ian Machado Garry.
Meanwhile, Nursulton Ruziboev (37-10-2 MMA) also entered today’s bout sporting a three-fight winning streak, with his most recent Octagon victory coming over Andrey Pulyaev via submission this past June. The Uzbekistan native had gone 12-1 over his past thirteen fights overall prior to today’s affair.
Today’s UFC Paris ‘Page vs. Ruziboev’ contest resulted in an absolute snooze fest. Michael Page was the aggressor throughout the bout, but that isn’t saying much. Ruziboev seemingly had no interest in engaging and after fifteen minutes of feints and posturing, ‘Venom’ was awarded the unanimous decision victory from the judges’ in attendance.
Official UFC Paris Results: Michael Page def. Nursulton Ruziboev by unanimous decision (30-27 x2, 29-28)

Michael Page promised to deliver a knockout. So of course he is going to point his way to a decision with 30 significant strikes landed. #UFCParis

John Hathaway in MVP's corner. It's nice that even though his return to competition was short-lived that he's found a more permanent spot in the MMA space #UFCParis

No fucking way. MVP buggy choke would be too much

This fight is making me fall asleep. #UFCParis

10-9 Ruziboev #UFCParis

They way they have completely failed at matchmaking Page needs to be studied. Hopefully MVP or Coker know what they're doing.

MVP is really one of the most frustrating fighters ever to watch. You know he can do absolutely violent things at a moment's notice, but he spends 99% of his time doing absolutely nothing. You get like one cool moment from him every 4 fights.

Post-fight reactions to Michael Page defeating Nursulton Ruziboev at UFC Paris:
29-28 MVP
MVP has proven that he can beat solid competition in the UFC, but he hasn't been able to do it with the same sort of magic that once made him such a big attraction in MMA.
Smart game plan and should get the nod on the scorecards. Ruziboev barely did anything.

I’ve never been so excited for a fight to end lmfao

Yeah I am done defending this guy. Horrendously boring performance, and he can do so much better. Killer instinct of Mother Teresa. https://t.co/R4CHQCa3Tg

ZERO chance the UFC re-signs Michael Page after this performance. No way. He's gone. #UFCParis
