Former Mets hero Ray Knight might have forgotten he was on television.

Knight, who was at Citi Field for the Mets’ reunion of their 1986 World Series championship team, casually dropped an F-bomb while talking to SNY reporter Steve Gelbs about the camaraderie with his teammates.

“It’s just we hugged,” Knight said. “I had about four or five guys on the team that gave me a kiss on the cheek and I kissed a couple guys on the cheek. People can think what they want to think, but I don’t give a f–k.”

Knight’s surprise profanity caused ex-Met Daniel Murphy — who was in the SNY broadcast booth — to let out an extended chuckle.

“But I do know one thing, I like going to war with those men,” Knight added.

Knight is best known in Queens for taking home World Series MVP for his efforts against the Red Sox, most notably scoring the winning run in Game 6 following Boston first baseman Bill Buckner’s infamous error.

Mookie Wilson — who famously hit the game-winning ground ball past Buckner — was also in attendance for the 40th anniversary of their championship, and he called the 1986 team “special.”

“The personalities were so different [and] the cultures were so different,’’ Wilson said Saturday. “It’s unusual to find that many different personalities come together and play in harmony. … We found a way to win. We all wanted to win.

“Teams and players in general are defined by their expectations and people expected us to win. And we expected us to win.”

The Mets honored the squad before their 6-2 loss to the Marlins on Saturday, with those in attendance standing at second base after being introduced on the field.

Members of the championship team also interviewed on the SNY broadcast both before and during the game.
