Special things are continuing to happen at Fenway Park in Boston, Massachusetts, home of the Boston Red Sox.
After being rained out on Tuesday, Boston took the field Wednesday against the Baltimore Orioles in Game 1 of a doubleheader with a chance to tie a franchise record of 15 consecutive wins.
Boston struck early and never looked back
The Red Sox offense wasted little time in getting out to an early lead in pursuit of win No. 15 in a row. Third baseman Caleb Durbin delivered a two-RBI single to open the scoring.
Durbin's two-RBI hit was followed by a two-run triple from left fielder Jarren Duran to give Boston an early 4-0 lead, one they never relinquished.

With the 6-3 victory in Game 1 of Wednesday's doubleheader, Boston matched a franchise record with its 15th consecutive win, a record that was set all the way back in 1946.
It is only the 17th win streak of 15 or more games this century and is the longest win streak in the major leagues since the St. Louis Cardinals won 17 in a row during the 2021 season.
The quest for 16 straight is soon approaching
With Wednesday being a doubleheader day between the Orioles and Red Sox, the team won't have long to sit on the face that they tied franchise history.
They'll instead look ahead to another game set to begin in just over three hours. Boston will likely send left-hander Ranger Suarez to the mound in hopes that he can provide the team with a solid outing that allows the opportunity for a franchise best 16th consecutive win.
