Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayAs Tyson Fury’s search for an August opponent continues, fan-favourite four-division world champion Roy Jones Jr has advised ‘The Gypsy King’ to steer clear of two rumoured opponents, whom he believes ‘could spoil the party’ ahead of a long awaited showdown with Anthony Joshua.
Whilst AJ is set to take on Kristian Prenga on Saturday, July 25, in his ‘tune-up’, ahead of the clash with Fury, the latter is yet to announce who will be in the opposing corner when he next fights.
As a result, a number of names have been linked to a shot at disrupting Fury’s plans for a ‘Battle of Britain’ between he and ‘AJ’; with Nelson Hysa understood to be the ‘leading option’ at present.
However, both Andy Ruiz Jr and Jarrell Miller have also been mentioned for the away corner. Speaking with BettingLounge, Jones told Fury to avoid both men, believing that any ‘real challenge’ could scupper his plans.
“I know what they’re doing, and I understand the warm-up fight for both of them. I just hope they are warm-up fights and not real challenges, because if they are real challenges, somebody is not going to win.
“It happens every time. Every time they fight a real challenge before they fight each other, somebody gets beat.
“So, I hope they’re taking true warm-up fights and not real fights, because if they take two real fights, somebody is going to lose. I hope it isn’t Andy Ruiz, and I hope it isn’t ‘Big Baby’ Miller for Fury.
“I think Fury really can beat both of them, but Andy Ruiz spoiled a party one time on Joshua’s side. Please don’t have him spoil the party again.
“Miller isn’t a bum either. Miller and Andy Ruiz are both capable of spoiling the party.”
Fury’s opponent is expected to be confirmed imminently, with his ‘run out’ expected to take place in August.
