Anders Dreyer’s dream debut season with San Diego FC reached another milestone as he was named MLS Player of the Matchday presented by Michelob Ultra for Matchday 31.
The Danish winger delivered once again in San Diego’s rivalry clash with LAFC, registering an assist and netting the game-winning goal in a 2-1 comeback victory at BMO Stadium. The result marked San Diego’s seventh straight road win, tying FC Cincinnati (2024) and CF Montréal (2022) for the longest single-season road winning streak in league history (excluding the shootout era).
San Diego’s triumph also extended their perfect record against California opponents (5W-0L-0D) and brought them level with St. Louis CITY SC for the most wins by an expansion team (17). With one more point, they will tie LAFC’s single-season expansion points record (57).
For Dreyer, the performance adds to what has been a sensational first campaign. He now has 32 goal contributions (14 goals, 18 assists), tying Zlatan Ibrahimović’s 2018 debut tally with LA Galaxy for second-most in MLS history.
