Orgo-Life the new way to the future

Rookie infielder Charles McAdoo is making the most of his second promotion with the Toronto Blue Jays. Since being recalled from Triple-A Buffalo in his second stint on Aug. 10, he has gone 5-for-18 at the plate with a home run, a double, and four RBI across six games.

He earned his second promotion following his dominant performance in Triple-A Buffalo, where he was named International Player of the Week on Aug. 10, when he went 13-for-28 at the plate and homered in four consecutive games.

As well, he was recalled as a roster refresh that has helped ignite a spark for the Blue Jays as they have now won six consecutive series and find themselves in an AL wild-card spot.

The 24-year-old homered in his MLB debut earlier this season on May 29 and followed it by homering in his second call-up this season off veteran ace Sonny Gray, extending his home run streak to five games. According to Blue Jays reporter Keegan Matheson, an inner Vladdy is being "channeled" by McAdoo following the Blue Jays' 4-1 victory over the New York Yankees on Saturday.

Matheson said, ''McAdoo is essentially the 'next man up' in Guerrero’s place after the face of the franchise hit the seven-day concussion IL early Saturday. He’ll be in the lineup every day, and with a swing like this in a moment that big, McAdoo looks like he can be more than just a short-term fill-in.''

Roster management and McAdoo's potential role with Blue Jays

Overall, he's batting .220 with two home runs and seven RBI across 41 at-bats. If he can continue to replicate his current hot streak, he will certainly remain on the 40-man roster, as the Blue Jays need all the offense they can get.

They would benefit from having McAdoo in the lineup consistently as they look to remain in wild-card contention following their struggles. His role could consist of being a super utility player who can play all infield positions and share reps in order to give regular starters a day off and leverage his reliable bat.

As well, he can be utilized in a corner outfield role against particular pitching matchups, as well as being placed in the DH spot (rotate with Vladdy) in order to keep his bat active in the lineup.
