British builder Pi Manson of Clandestine just released a limited run of platform pedals created in collaboration with MKS in Japan. Find details on the new Clandestine Cradle Pedals here…

Early this year, framebuilder Pi Manson in Bristol, England, was approached by MKS in Japan about teaming up to create a limited-edition pedal—an offer he couldn’t refuse. The all-new Clandestine Cradle Pedals are the result of that collaboration, designed as the perfect companion to the elegantly capable touring bikes Pi builds in his small workshop.

Clandestine Cradle Pedals

Influenced by the vintage mountain bike pedals of yesteryear, the polished Cradle Pedals aim to strike the ideal balance between providing a confident, grippy platform over rough terrain and not being so knife-edged that they eat up shoes. The twin plates at each end of the pedals reference Pi’s signature twin-plate fork crows and create a generous 100mm x 90mm place for your feet. Both are slightly curved to create a hollow, and the whole pedal is concave left to right and front to back, creating the namesake cradle.

While they last, the new pedals are available for £110 ($145) at Clandestine.cc.
