Have a night, Ryan O’Hearn. The Pirates slugger set a franchise record with 10 RBI on Tuesday against the Braves. O’Hearn hit a grand slam and two three-run homers within the first six innings of the game. He then tacked on an eighth-inning single to give himself a four-hit night.

1. Tolbert matches MLB record

Royals utilityman Tyler Tolbert picked up hits in his first five at-bats on Tuesday against the Mets. It extended his streak to 12 straight plate appearances with a hit, tying the MLB record. Tolbert had a chance to pass Johnny Kling (1902) and Walt Dropo (1952) for the all-time mark, but flew out to right field in his final at-bat. “I didn’t want to do too much,” Tolbert told reporters, including Bill Ladson of MLB.com. “Minter executed a pitch, and he broke the streak. He is a good pitcher. It is what it is. All I can do is just smile.” The sparsely used Tolbert had seven hits all season before this stretch.

2. Ohtani reaches 300 home runs

With 299 home runs heading into Tuesday, Shohei Ohtani didn’t waste any time achieving his next milestone. The two-way star launched a 2-0 sinker from Michael Lorenzen over the center field wall for a leadoff home run. Ohtani hit his 300th home run in his 1,102nd game, the fifth-fewest all time (h/t Katie Woo of The Athletic). He now has 20 home runs through 391 plate appearances this year. Ohtani is coming off back-to-back 50-homer seasons. “I definitely think 500 is in his future,” manager Dave Roberts said.

3. Bichette gets hit No. 1,000

Mets infielder Bo Bichette also took care of a milestone achievement in his first at-bat yesterday. The veteran poked a single to center for his 1,000th career hit. Bichette has been one of the most consistent hit collectors this decade. He led the league in hits in 2021 and 2022. He finished second for the AL batting title last season. Bichette’s tenure in New York got off to a slow start, but he heated up in June, slashing .321/.342/.541. With nine hits in his last five games, he has his batting average up to .259 for the year.
